Merci de vos gentils voeux, j'espere que vous viendrez souvent nous faire un petit coucou! Moi, je me suis inscrite a votre newsletter, je viendrai comme voyager avec vous...a bientot!

Aujourd'hui j'avais prepare une belle liste mais sans faire expres bien sur! (je cherchais des frees depuis 2 h), je l'ai efface. Je ne sais pas si il y a une corbeille sur over-blog pour la recuperer...j'ai poster sur le forum dmc mais je n'ai pas encore de reponse!!!

Je ne sais pas si je vais avoir le temps d'en refaire une ce sera la surprise!!! ou non.

Myriam a réalisé une trés jolie boite à thé pour la belle-mère de son fils.
Myriam did this lovely tea box for her son's mother in law.

Déborah pour la broderie et Taïcia pour la couture ont réalisé ce très joli coussin qu'elles ont offert à Myriam.
Deborah did the cross-stitch embroidery, Taicia sewed the cushion as a present for Myriam.

Voici un nouveau RR qui commence...

Nouvelle ronde, nouvelle règle !

Sur une idée originale de Mélanie, nous avons décidé de ne plus faire tourner parmi nous nos toiles respectives, mais qu' à chaque réunion mensuelle, l'une d'entre nous (désignée par tirage au sort) choisissait un thème et découpait un carré de toile aïda par membre participant à la ronde qu' elle nous distribuait et que nous brodons pour elle.
C'est le principe du "tous pour un..." ;0))

Le sort a désigné Gloria pour commencer cette ronde d'un nouveau genre.
Son thème : Les fleurs

Et voici le résultat :

Nous avons hâte de savoir ce que Gloria va en faire...??!!
Il manque 2 fleurs, celle de Myriam qui l'a oubliée chez elle :0(
et celle de Pnina qui handicapée par sa main n'a pu la broder :0(( (Myriam s'est portée volontaire pour la remplacer ;0)

e mois prochain, nous brodons toutes pour Mélanie sur le thème des insectes.

A new RR is starting... New round, new style!
We all embroidered for one!

"Here are the flowers we had embroidered for Gloria's "in-a-month" round robin.
They all looked very pretty together. Gloria still hasn't decided what she'll do with them.

Next month's round robin is Melanie's, and she handed out squares.
Each of us will embroider an insect, of any kind. Even a cockroach is ok, Melanie said!"

"Susan (me) re-showed all the squares the group has done for the regular round robin. I think they look great. I offered to give the group a demonstration of how to use sashing to put the squares together. Sashing is very common in quilting, and involves using strips of material to combine units (in this case, squares) of a quilt."

Susan nous a apporté les carrés que nous lui avons brodé pour la précédente ronde et qq bandes de tissus. Elle nous a expliqué qu'elle voulait monter le tout en patchwork. A suivre...

Désolée... mon ordinateur m'a laissé tomber pendant qq jours
De plus le compte à rebours a commencé... plus que 5 jours et ma fille se marie ! Je vous passe les détails du stress avant les derniers préparatifs.

Cette fois-ci, nous étions attendues chez Mélanie pour notre réunion mensuelle.

Je vous montrerai par la suite les photos des rondes, de l'atelier et de nos encours respectifs.

Mélanie ne fait pas que de la broderie... elle fait aussi de très jolies choses au crochet qu'elle destine à des oeuvres de bienfaisance. Ici, une jolie couverture pour un centre d'entre aide "Ezra".

Oscar, un des 3 chats persans de Mélanie est venu participer à notre atelier.

We had a fun meeting.
We all looked at the flowers we had embroidered for Gloria's "in-a-month" round robin.
They all looked very pretty together. Gloria still hasn't decided what she'll do with them.

Susan (me) re-showed all the squares the group has done for the regular round robin. I think they look great.
I offered to give the group a demonstration of how to use sashing to put the squares together.
Sashing is very common in quilting, and involves using strips of material to combine units (in this case, squares) of a quilt.

We continued to admire the beautiful works of Taisha, Deborah's mother. The winter scenes with the reindeer are so evocative.

We also saw Rolande's adorable eggbox with a special clasp.
And some embroidery of winter leaves on aida that Myriam is doing,
which is not cross stitch, but other stiches. Something different and worth trying.

Next month's round robin is Melanie's, and she handed out squares.
Each of us will embroider an insect, of any kind.
Even a cockroach is ok, Melanie said!

Myriam led a workshop, around Melanie's table,
on making little thig-a-mijigs for winding extra thread around.
She had all kinds of samples of upholstery material,
which were really suitable for winding thread because they weren't too smooth. It was fun sharing the scissors and glue.
We felt like we were in an advanced kindergarten.

Susan will invite Shoshana to the next meeting to give a workshop on her free style embroidery.
We hope she can make it. It would be nice to branch out.
Shoshana is really an excellent and skilled embroideress.

The next meeting will be on the first Tuesday in January, at Susan's house.

Vickie is recovering from a car accident, and so hasn't been able to come.
We all wish her a speedy recovery.
Pnina's hand is still out of shape from overdoing it with the cross stitch.
Pnina, get that hand in shape fast!
